Cooling-system faults can turn a small leak into a serious engine problem very quickly. If the temperature rises, the coolant level keeps dropping or the heater suddenly changes behaviour, the cause should be checked before the vehicle is used heavily again.
Cooling faults we investigate
- Coolant leaks and repeated low-coolant warnings
- Overheating in traffic or under load
- Thermostat faults
- Radiator and hose problems
- Water-pump faults
- Cooling-fan and fan-control issues
- Temperature-sensor and electrical faults
Mechanical and diagnostic checks
Modern cooling systems combine mechanical parts with sensors, control modules and electric fans. We check the evidence before replacing components, including visible leaks, temperature behaviour and diagnostic information where needed.
After an overheating event
If the engine has been driven while seriously overheated, the repair may need to go further than replacing the failed cooling component. We can assess for symptoms of cylinder-head or head-gasket damage and discuss the next stage before major work begins.
Cooling system FAQs
Is a coolant leak always obvious?
No. Some leaks only appear when the system is hot and pressurised, and others leave only dried residue rather than a puddle.
Can a faulty sensor cause overheating symptoms?
It can cause incorrect readings or fan-control problems, but the complete system still needs checking before assuming the sensor is the cause.
